The works from the Seed Project series that he collected seeds in Kyoto from Autumn 2013 to Summer 2014.
The plant bears fruits on the quiet everywhere in Kyoto where is crowded with tourists.
They show us the another type of Kyoto that is hard for us to perceive in a daily life.

Saburo Ota was born in Yamagata, Japan in 1950. He graduated from the Mechanical engineering course at Tsuruoka National College of Technology in 1971. In 1984, he developed his acclaimed postmarked stamps series. Ota's work has been collected by the agency for cultural affairs of Japan, the Japan Foundation, the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, and so on.

Workshop  “Let’s make a strap with plant seeds”

Saburo OTA holds a workshop to make a strap with antique beads, plant seeds, wool and stuff. It’s easy for children to make it by themselves as well. Please don’t hesitate to join us.
