Yoshitaka Yazu has started up many cultural anthropological art projects for his huge interest in the concept of "the divinity", which has been handed down in all of any religions from the ancient era, to materialize the boundaries between the visible and spirit world in today's context. Using objects closely related to spiritual practices in many religions such as mirrors and dolls,  Yoshitaka has generalized the meanings of religious action and been seeking its own definition of spiritualism in our era.

Yoshitaka Yazu was born in Osaka in 1980, and currently lives and based in Kyoto, Japan. Yazu received B.F.A in Sculpture from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2004.

Yazu was a former member of ANTENNA which is an artist group in Kyoto and had many nationwide art projects and exhibited in Asia and Europe. After leaving the group, his works have been exhibited in galleries across Japan such as Kyoto Art Centre, Osaka Contemporary Art Centre, and Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art. Yazu also has participated in several Artist Residency Programme including one at Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Besançon, France.
