Nagasawa paints objects and patterns, such as birds and plants, found in folk art with calm colour tones and soft brushwork. Nagasawa finds and depicts a sense of "beauty" in everyday craftsmanship rooted in life, redefining the primitive and simple charm within Eastern cultural and craft practices and blurring the boundaries between design and art in today’s way.
Fu Nagasawa was born in Kochi, Japan in 1999 and is currently based in Kyoto. In 2021, he received his M.F.A. in Oil Painting from Kyoto University of the Arts.
