Kosei Komatsu's work gets inspired by the beauty of nature, especially that of birds. How do they fly? Why do the mechanism and dynamics, for example, the shape of feather or the movement of their flight, look so beautiful and inevitably attractive? Starting from these questions, Komatsu has incorporated these natural features into his art projects.
Kosei Komatsu was born in 1981, Tokushima Japan, and currently lives and based in Tokyo. Komatsu received M.F.A in Design from Tokyo University of Arts in 2006. He was a former member of Atelier Omoya, an artists’ group with many experimental projects in installation and media art.
