Fumika Tsuchitori has devoted herself to two series called, I and You, which capture intimate moments between two people, and a scene that extracts elements such as colors and shapes from landscapes. The highly abstracted objects are decorated with some inimitable patterns and a dash of lacquer spray. The boundary between each figure is unclear, as the relationship itself remains uncertain, no matter how we try to grasp it.
Fumika Tsuchitori was born in 1995 and currently based in Kyoto, Japan. In 2020, Tsuchitori received an M.A. in Contemporary Art from Kyoto University of Art and Design.
Tsuchitori has won several art prizes in Japan such as, the International Takifuji Art Award (2017) and the Kyoto University of the Arts Graduate Exhibition Award (2020).
