The Masterpiece By A Printer Tadashi Toda: Tadashi Toda Solo Exhibition

7 - 29 March 2015

“I am brush of the artists”

In the 1980s, many well- known artists came down to Shiun-Do, Tadashi Toda’s atelier located in the Kita ward in Kyoto. He joined the Japanese Woodprint Project incubated by Crown Point Press, Inc., since 1982. His unique genius, free of stereotypes and grounded in solid technique, was highly trusted. Until Toda passed away in 2000, he collaborated with many artists including Francesco Clemente and Alex Katz and made a wealth of woodblock prints. In this exhibition, we show Tadashi Toda’s works, evaluated by artists the world over, and introduce his prominent print skills.
