Platinum Print / Alternative Process meets Tosahakkinshi: Mark & Kristen Sink, Francis Schanberger, Satoru Yoshioka

COHJU contemporary art is pleased to present a group show which focuses on platinum print photographies by Mark & Kristen Sink, Francis Schanberger, and Satoru Yoshioka.

 


 

 

Mark and Kristen Sink

A photographer. Based in Denver in the U.S. state of Colorado.

For the last five years Mark and Kristen have collaborated using one of the earliest photographic methods, collodion wet plate to create ambrotypes on glass and tintypes on Aluminum. Mark is a co-founder of MCA Denver and active as curator. For this exhibition, he is participating as an artist unit with his wife, Kristen.

 

Francis Schanberger 

A photographer. Based in Dayton in the U.S. state of Ohio. A teacher of photography at the University of Dayton. He actively presents photo works with using Washi and so on. He had exhibitions at Soho Photo in New York, the Houston Center for Photography, and Museet for Fotokunst in Odensee in Denmark.

 

Satoru Yoshioka

Born in 1963 in Kochi prefecture. Since 2005, he has visited accelerator lanoratories in the world and in 2007, he photographed CERN in Switzerland which is famous for Higgs boson. Selected as a 'Best Science Photographer in 2008' by British photographic magazine 'British Journal of Photography'. In 2012, his photo book 'Big Science: Stanford Linear Accelerator Center' (Publisher: PPrP) was in the collections of a Library at Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
