COHJU is pleased to present “(Not) Cowboy, (Not) Samurai,” a solo exhibition by Shinya Azuma, organized in collaboration with Galleri Urbane in Dallas, USA.
Coinciding with his first solo exhibition in the United States, Azuma participated in an artist residency at the Augustus Owen Foundation in Texas. The exhibition presents new works inspired by his experiences during the residency.
Azuma often draws upon events in his immediate surroundings and social developments encountered through the news. We invite you to discover how the landscapes and culture of Texas have been interpreted through his distinctive perspective and translated into his new works.
