Quiet Emergence

3 September - 7 November 2026

COHJU, in collaboration with Saenger Galería in Mexico City, is pleased to present Mio Yamato’s solo exhibition, Quiet Emergence, at the gallery.

Bringing together approximately 35 works, the exhibition centers on three series: RED DOT, BREATH, and under my skin. Through the repetitive bodily actions of painting dots and breathing, as well as her use of blood as a motif, Yamato explores our connection to the invisible currents that flow through nature and the world.

A single dot, a single breath, a single drop of blood. As Yamato closely observes and continues to depict these small elements, something beyond her own expectations quietly emerges. She calls this phenomenon Quiet Emergence, something she has experienced repeatedly throughout her practice.

We invite you to discover these three bodies of work brought together in a single exhibition.
