Tomoko Takagi is obsessed with weird things she found on a street and paint them with a unique style and distinctive taste of colors. The material she uses, which is a mixture of oil and alkyd resin, looks transparent and fairly vivid but gets dry quickly at the same time so she can't depict the outline of each object correctly and carefully. That's how the image looks getting far from the objects as it was supposed to be but she feels getting closer to them. For Takagi, painting is a process to understand what makes her feel 'weird' and build a relationship with them.

Tomoko Takagi was born in Chiba in 1989 and currently lives and based in Shiga, Japan. Sa She received M.F.A in Painting from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2015.
